Does anyone know the length of the carrier?  What is its speed when under full steam?

Can't accurately bomb unless we know that ...

I was yesterday driving aside of destroyer in the CV group.. it was pretty fast.
My PT-boat travelled over 47mph and I kept aside destroyer when I had about 35mph.

..or is that knots?  I don't really know when they don't even have metrics on jap/european planes, why would there be knots

80x40mm? 60x20mm!! Were the hell did they fit all those guns?!

The AH carrier only has 32x40mm in 8 quad installations, and 6x20mm guns.

And the AH cruiser has only 24x40mm, and 6x20mm.

The destroyer has 5" front and rear turrets, 6x20mm and 4x40mm.

What class is the DD supposed to be?

Where they stuck the guns is beyond me, but we don't have a DD. According to Pyro, we've got a DE; yep, destroyer-escort. What class I don't know, but I was kinda hoping for an Allen M Sumner class. 6 5"/38 caliber guns along with a buttload of extras. Torps too. Found a great story about one against 22 kamikaze planes here:

Hit the knit carrier at full steam from 25k in a lanc last night +)
The strange thing is, that a miss with a bomb shows a little splash (visible from 25k) but a hit leaves a bomb crater similar to that left on land.

I really hope long term the CVs prove totally unhittable level-bombing (as they were historically.)

Of course, because there are no large bomber formations, the accuracy of level bombing is about 100 times what it was historically (and I think that's a reasonable accomodation of playability over realism for the buff guys) but I do hope that changes take place that make it insanely hard to hit a CV with a level bomber at 10k+.

Skurj

How many CV lengths did you have to aim infront of the CV to hit?

Cheers
