Mj, thats a IL2 film,the mossie's are FB versions with 4 interal and 2 wing loaded 500lbers.

If you notice they didnt have glass noses so that makes them FB's likely only armed with 4 mg's.As to the Mk,well look up IL2's mossies and see if they mention a the version.

 Nice eye candy tho.

Danke Fiend.  :salute Know it's an IL2 film, was just curious on the Mossie type. I've been reviewing alot of IL2 films lately and they are absolutely beautiful as eye candy and storyline goes. Cannot wait for the day when AH reaches that level of visual effects and or surpasses it.  :aok

Ahh I might have missed that,I didnt see the glass nose,I even stopped the film to look at the mossie landing but couldnt see if it had a glass nose.

If thats the case it would be unarmed!

Thanks USCH,I rewatch the film. :salute

Ur correct, they are glass nosed bombers.

Incredible graphics.  Is there a game where they exist as they do in the video?

They had glass noses, meaning unarmed bombers.

There were no Mossie's armed with just four machine guns.  Some night fighters had just four cannon though.  FB Mossies were armed with one of the following combinations:  four machine guns and four cannon, four machine guns and one 57mm cannon, two machine guns and one 57mm cannon.

Karnak,it's not that I doubt you,I'll defer to your mossie knowledge anytime, but I recall reading that some NFB's had the cannons removed to increase the bomb loadout. Now this may have been a field mod,not sure, but I'm almost positive I'd read that.In anycase if you'd be so kind to look this up I'd appreciate your input.

Then again it could have been those crazy canuks, heaven knows they did silly things during the war......

I've never come across such a note.  If it were done it would be a field mod.  Some FB.VI used as intruders had the four machine guns removed because the muzzle flashes blinded the pilot at night. Certainly the Mossies in the linked video were not FBs.

Karnak,
this may be a misprint but the PR VII a version of Mk XV NF was supposedly armed with only 303's. Now granted only 5 were made and I may have misread this but thats were I got the imfo....Also the mkXII NF had the mg's and radar removed, which I misread as having the 303's and new radar.

Thats where I read the 4 mg armed version so I sure feel dumb now!!! :o

I used to enjoy curling 57mm rounds into tanks in FA ,  that made deflection shooting FUN,

think B25H with a smaller round but mossie agility.

Batty,I flew the MkXVIII in another sim, thats the 57mm Tsetse. It had 22 rounds plus mg's and even with my poor shooting abilities I was able to down afew most sorties.   :D

If it was to be added I'm sure you'd really enjoy it. :devil
