The Yak-9U and the G10 should be very similar birds, so I don't see how one can make the other obsolete.
There should be two major differences in the two planes, max speed and high speed handling.
The max speed of the Yak is 434mph at 18,000ft. The max speed of the G10 is 452mph at around 20k-22k (if I remember right). Thats a big edge to the G10, since it can control the how and when of the fight.
Now the Yak, shouldn't have the high speed handling problems that the G10 does (I say shouldn't, due to the things I have read, but we havent' seen what actually comes out of the FM in AH). So thats the big advantage of the Yak over the G10.
Otherwise they are pretty similar, except for the Black Cross & Red Star.
So depending on how you fly these two characteristics should cancel one another out.
Personally, and leonid or funked may disagree with me, but I think alot of people are over rating the turning ability of the Yak. Look at its wingloading, its not much better than the P-51. So don't look for it to be a real turner.
Just my opinon. All we can do is wait and see.
