the yak pilots were noobs....  ITs the same in AH your fighting the pilot more that the plane  If your a better pilot it doesnt matter what the other guy is in.  Im sure guys can post f4s killing yaks and I can post yaks killing f4's.... :devil

its all about tactics and experience you can have a newb in a new better plane and a experienced pilot in a older plane and i bet the older one wins cause of the pilot provided the new plane isnt so far advanced where it dont matter

I did outclimb a F4U4 in a yak9u just 2 days ago, I think it mostly depends of the starting speed of the climb, this time we were pretty slow.

You'll read a lot of real life encounters that don't end up the way you'd think from flying Aces High.
Things to consider instead of just dismissing real combat outcomes from the game are many. Right off the bat there's the fact that each time you up in AHII you take up a perfectly good airplane. This was not always the case in real life. It was not uncommon for pilots to be taking aircraft in bad need of overhaul into combat. Or questionable fuel quality.
Also take into account that actual flying, especially combat flying is much more physically demanding than sitting at your PC flying a sim. Pilot health and his state of fatigue could also be contributing factors. Remember you're playing a game you're not flying actual combat.

Oh and one more thing... Corsairs kick a**!  :D
