Another bit for P-38 lovers...
The 459th "Twin Dragons" will be reactivated next week at Sheppard AFB, flying the T-6 with a mission of phase 2 (primary flying) training for ENJJPT, training NATO fighter pilots.
This link has more on the history of 80th Fighter Group reactivated as the 80th Flying Training Wing at Sheppard AFB, and the squadrons that have been reactivated to accomplish our mission here at Sheppard AFB (88th, 89th, 90th, 459th, 469th). The 469th also reactivated (for the 4th or so time since WWII) just this last Friday, flying the T-38C.
