Some were also equipped with explosives so that if it didn't cut your wing off, when the cable and balloon separated (as in, the balloon hit the top of your plane as the cable slides underneath), it would detonate and ignite the balloon on top of you.

Just what we need, more "uber" barrage balloons!!

1st we need to fill the "gaps" in the earlier balloon sets!

And if we do get them, of course they would need to be perked!!

What purpose would they serve other than another target?  Stop vultching?  I think not.
