DAMN the I-16 had a small prop! 
It looks almost comical! How in the world di it end up that way? 
IIRC the story went something like this: The original I-16 had the direct driven M-62 (or M-63, M-25 etc.) driving two blade propeller while the replica builders had only the M-62R with fourblade propeller available which is a geared civil version of the M-62 (used in the An-2). So they took two blades of that 4-blade propeller and the result is what you see there... this is also why the spinner is much longer than in the original plane (Hamilton standard copy with the counter weights).
