Film Viewer & Vista???
« on: October 04, 2009, 01:51:07 PM »
I am having trouble opening my film viewer in Vista.

Problem and What I have tried:

1.  When I click one the Desktop Icon or go to start and open from there, I get the new message window asking if I want to continue.  I do that and there is a momentary shudder but nothing opens.

2. I then did a right click on the Icon and tried opening as administrator.  Again nothing.

3. After another right click I went to properties--->Capatibiliy---> Run this program as an administratior.  Nothing there either.

I am now way beyond my Vista understanding and or capabilities.  Can anyone help?  What do I do to open my film viewer?

If you have UAC on then the AHFilm icon should have a UAC icon superimposed on the AHFilm icon. If its not there then you should not have to add administrator giths to run it. Probably you have it installed to the 'Program Files' folder and with Vista that will cause problems. If thats the case the only thing I know of that will fix it is moving AH to another folder. You do not have to uninstall/reinstall but if you do move it (copy/paste) to another folder then all your shorcuts will have to updated properly.

If thats not the problem then you are probably trying to run the film viewer while AH is running and thats not allowed.

Thanks Chalenge, that was the problem...  I was just minimizing AH and trying to open the viewer!  What a quick fix!  Thank you sir.
