Dallas/Forth Worth area guys
« on: November 12, 2009, 12:19:21 AM »
Any suggestions on good air museums in the area?  I'm going to be there this weekend and if I end up with some free time might try to visit one.  There was one at Addison Airport called Frontiers of Flight (I think), it looked pretty good.  Anyway, thanks for the input.

Fort Worth Vintage Flying Museum:  (I have no personal experience)

I know this is tangent, but the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History has been a favorite for my kids:

No disrespect to my friends in Dallas, but Fort Worth has more distinct culture and better attractions, unless you're just into South Fork, titty bars, and The Grassy Knoll.

I live about 5 minutes away from the South Fork ranch. It's not exactly "Dallas" out here - only according to Hollywood. In fact, the city would be Murphy.

Regarding South Fork:  Plano, Parker, and Murphy all would claim it.  As well as Dallas.  I remember when it was just a ranch house way out in the country.  Boy, did that change.

Have fun Jayhawk.  Let us know if you see something really cool.

everytime I drive through the dallas area, its different. What was once fields of corn a year ago, is now busting with homes and restaurants. I swear Texas is its own country.

Jayhawk,  Thanks for the pics!~   Was that a "real" DR3 or just a mock up.  I think my son wants to go now just to see that plane.

What Kramden said. Also if you go to the Frontiers of Flight Museum at Love Field take the time to drive over to the main terminal. There's a great Aviation Art store in the Terminal. Enjoy your stay in North Texas.
