AH crashes and locks up when starting an offline practice.

I'm a noobie here so bear with me.
I have been reading up in here about converting a .mis file to a .res file using the the Mission Editor etc... Everything seems fine and in the proper file until I click on the said practice mission. I get a black screen and then a white screen and then it locks up to the point where I have to reboot the computer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled AH and ME and several times to no avail.  I was hoping to fly the 100 plane furball but right now I am 1v1 with this issue and so far its winning. Any suggestions? Is that the only mission you've tried?  If so, try the ones I've named in this thread.  I'm guessing it's the mission, but we can find out this way if it is or not.

Thanks Ranger.  I downloaded Rune and it showed up perfectly in the practice missions. I guess I had a bad "100 plane furball" file. All I need is the jousting terrain. For some reason only the ndsiles(?) terrain downloads when installing AH. I may need your help with finding the terrain if I can't locate it somewhere in here. Thanks for your help.
