Ghosth...is that a self standing system that you just slide a chair up to? Or is it attached to the chair itself?

I'd be considering something like the mtnman or Ghosth setup(homemade), any suggestions for building something like this?

Throw the hammer, not the joystick.

First off its my buddy Baumer's setup, not mine. I use a simple swinging shelf to hold my stick.

Yes it is a free standing system, as he has it setup the chair is bolted too it.
With the chair all the way back its not hard to climb in and sit down. Then run the chair forward with the seat adjust system that came with the chair.

But the "Mini pit" could be used either way, attached to the chair or free standing.
The only issue with a chair that can be rolled up to it, is that you push yourself away when using the rudder pedals.

A small sheet of Plastic or Plywood with a couple of 2" holes cut into it for the castors on the chair to drop into would solve that problem. Would give you the best of both worlds. Would let you use a comfy office chair on castors, and would hold the chair in place while flying.

Mine was very cheap to make, but it works well. Movie here:

WOW some of these set ups are amazing.  I have a 1890 Oak besk, I just put my throttle on the left pull out and the stick on the right pull out,  My laptop is set to the left, at an offset, and my 18 inch monitor is in the center.
Takeoffs are optional, landings aren't

I actually do hit my head sometimes! But it's camo foam insulation so it squishes a little bit.  :aok

I actually banished myself to the attick of my barn. I was tired of competing for computer time on the family rig and hearing spongebob on the TV when trying to hear stuff in game.

I'm quite happy to have a seperate area away from distraction. It's tough to hear the dinner bell though!

Well first of all I'm glad to know it's insulation, at first I was thinking about how cold it must get up there, then I was picturing you with a can of spray paint making all those green lines.

I don't blame you moving yourself up there, it actually looks like a pretty nice place to do that kind of thing.  The light is nice although it would mess with my trackIR.  Cool set-up  :aok

...from pervert's post above...

" He was sent there to plumb the waste for the shower  "

Mr. Pervert, Sir, I have no idea what point you are trying to convey in this statement.
