EnemyIconRange player level override of arena setting.
« on: December 21, 2009, 02:22:58 PM »
Currently, the setting for EnemyIconRange( aside from on or off )  is managed for the entire arena.

This is the range at which enemy icons become visible.  Current MA settings are 6k yards.  Normal Friday Squad Operations (FSO) settings are 3k yards.

Eventually, some FSOs will be using a custom EnemyIconRange setting that is not loaded in any of the arenas on a regular basis.  It will be necessary to revise our SA practices we have been accustomed for 8+ years to be able to adapt to these new settings. Since there is no H2H arena available, the only way for a squad or multiple people to practice with these settings, today, is to arrange for the AvA or special events arenas to be managed with these settings.

To bypass this necessity, add a user level setting for the EnemyIconRange that can be used to override the arena level default, but only for a more restrictive level.

For instance, if the MA is set to 6000 yards, the user level can be set from 0 ( no icon ) to 5999 yards.

If the MA is set to 3000 yards, the user can be set from 0 to 2999 yards.

Each time you log into an arena, the arena's default is loaded.  You would have to enter the override each time you logged in.

This would allow squads to practice with different icon range settings while still in the MA and not impacting all the other players.
