The IL2's rear gun borderlines on being a 20mm?  Just because one scored a 'Golden BB' shot on your plane at one time doesn't mean it's got the near power of 20mm cannon.  It's a rather weak defensive gun.

i would love for the rear gunners in the 2 man planes to do little auto ack bursts and the il2's tail gun is 200 rounds of 50 cal ammo hardly a 20mm but it gets more dmg because its being fired into a plane moving into it I find the game actually models this speed difference and direction of the bullets Besides if your afraid of the auto ack hitting you with a single 30 cal every 3-4 bursts on a SLOW Near HELPLESS 2 man plane like a tbm etc then you need to work on your gunnery and merges.

true once i stayed behind one just for testing purposes and that guy pinged the hell out of me and my plane was fine.  then again he was shooting mostly at my wings
