Dynamic Flight model
« on: July 09, 2001, 09:59:00 AM »
I'm probably going to be drawn and quartered for posting this but there is a new Box flight sim for air racing which is no threat to AH. However it does have one interesting feature. A dynamic flight model in which the player can modify his A/C for max performance at the sacrafice of some other options. As well as change engines, props, etc. Maybe there is a place for this in AH. One arena for player modifable A/C. Like Jugs running at 72inches of MAP and increased boost in the Dora, and one Historic arena for A/C that match the specs.
Any thoughts?

Here are the details

Quote
Features Include

Xtremely detailed 3D terrain and aircraft graphics.
Realistic flight dynamics and operating parameters.
Customizable aircraft options, including: engine choice; propeller style and length; reduction gear ratios; wing length; aerodynamic farings, plus additional methods to increase your speed.

Multiple race courses, including the Reno Stead Airport, home of the National Championship Air Races.
Flight options, providing several methods to get racing right away, or just fly the airplanes of Air Racing.
Full replay of every race run, providing multiple view stations, from in your own cockpit or any airplane on the course.
Multiple view options, including pylon view; in-cockpit view; pylon padlock view; outside view, all available from any airplane or any pylon on the course.

It just got reviewed by Simm HQ and Dogfighter.com this week and the Web site is brand new. I think this is a different game than what your thinking.

BTW, check out this AWESOME video. This is early beta. This is the best boxed graphics engine I think I've seen. WhooHoo!!

 Great Video

They have P-38's ?  :)
Of course, I only see what he posts here and what he does in the MA.  I know virtually nothing about the man.  I think its important for people to realize that we don't really know squat about each other.... definately not enough to use words like "hate".
