game stoppage
« on: March 04, 2010, 07:03:33 PM »
I bought a new computer about 2 months ago, disengaged the onboard video and installed a nvidia 7300le video card, otherwise left it stock.  Now i have a constant issue with the game just stopping, windows says Aces High has stopped working, and searching for a solution. My new pc is a Gateway DX4831-01e, i disengaged the on board video because of graphics bugs such as blocks around aircraft and so on.  Im wondering if the lock ups are associated with the graphics or something else? Thanks <S>

goto start/run/ and type in dxdiag. After that window loads, you can save the info by clicking a button in the bottom right. Save the txt file to your desktop. double click the txt file you just made and open it with notepad. cut and paste the top third of the page and post it here, it should look like this....

Make sure you disable "Options->Graphic Details->Advanced->Detailed Terrain".  The 7300LE does not have the performance to run with that option enabled.

Also consider setting the "Maximum Texture Size" in the games "Video Settings" to 256.
