2010 Ford F150 Raptor SVT
« on: April 10, 2010, 12:36:03 PM »
Starting price of 38K, all new designed for offroading when you feel the urge to play ,  7 inches wider than pervious F150's 8 inch overall, suspension travel 11.5 front and 12.5 rear, im really wanting to go look at this at the dealer, when i got my 04 F150 Supercab it was about 36k , i can honestly justify paying 38k for a 2010, The truck just looks great , when motortrend test drove it they said no other stock truck can touch this, and im thinking there right  :aok

A Ford pre-runner? Neat.

Ford designed the Raptor as a desert truck. It is very well set-up for that terrain. It's certainly not a rock crawler, or suitable for tough trails at Moab or the Rubicon. However, in the open desert, it will truly rock. Think of it as the ultimate factory prerunner, at least for now.

Dodge has noticed, and at the Easter Safari at Moab last week, they showed off a pre-production RamRunner, fitted with a very strong Hemi and a similar desert oriented suspension and drivetrain. Note that when released, the RamRunner can be ordered at any Dodge dealer, but will not be street legal or carry a warranty. They also showed off the new PowerWagon, upgraded for improved off road performance. That still leaves the Raptor in a class by itself.

Dodge really needs to redesign there front end look, old and out dated, i liked the design at first, but its been played out to long and on to many models.

I wonder if anybody plans to race one in Baja, or Dakar.  That would be the real test of it's capability and durability.

I just wish Ford would bring back the Bronco.  They showed a promising concept a few years ago, kind of retro 1st gen styling with a 4cyl turbo diesel and a 4wd system that sounded a lot like AMG's torque track system.  I don't understand why they won't produce something like that.  Given sheer number of Wranglers and H3s I see around here, there must be a pretty good market for that kind of vehicle.
