I think so, but I believe it only shoots about 2 rockets per second so it'll still take half a min to launch them all.
actually i'm pretty sure it was 3 per. but most likely i'm wrong...
Depends on which ammunition you compare.  Very similar capabilities.

just goes to show you how crappy Russian guns were in WWII :rofl and 85mm that can't even surpass an American 76mm gun using the same style of ammunition :lol :lol :lol

Added to my wishlist for M4 rockets:  New rocket sound, similar to bomb whistle, in that incoming rockets will be heard, not just the launch sound and impact sound.

I was recalling stories my dad told me about WW2 flying rockets.  When engine stopped they started to fall and could hear the whistling.   That is when they scrambled to hit the dirt.  Because it was dark and rockets weren't seen, they depended on the sound of engine stopping and whistle to estimate when one was close.

One word:

Gunsight.

In another thread OOZ pointed out that rockets on another vehicle were aimed using the main gun.  I am okay with this also, if it were just a matter of selecting rockets from the main gun sight, unlike rockets in PT boats which, correct me if I am wrong, have no sight for aiming.

Well, in all technicality, every weapon in Aces High has a "sight" at the very center of the screen if the head position hasn't been moved in the x/y directions. However, rangefinding is the issue.

I've read that the main gun couldn't fire while the Calliope was mounted and that it was aimed using the same sight as the main gun barrel. I doubt they would model it any other way than to be able to launch the rockets from the main gun sight. However, whether that will be a simple red cross (ala the Firefly's smoke rounds), a metered sight (ala standard tank main gun), or a full readout (ala ship guns) remains to be seen.

Didn't say anything about the in-game one in that respect. :)

Info about firing the main gun from Hunnicutt's definitive book on the Sherman:

"In the original design, the elevation arm was clamped directly to the gun barrel by a split ring and the cannon could not be fired until the launcher was jettisoned.  This feature, combined with jettisoning difficulties, made the tank mounted launchers extremely unpopular with the troops.  Field modifications attempted to correct this condition by removing the elevation arm from the cannon barrel and attaching it to the top of the gun shield.  This permitted the cannon to be fired with the launcher in place, but the smaller movement of the gun mount limited the range of elevation.

"On the T34E1 launcher, the elevation arm was attached to extensions from the gun shield thus retaining the full elevation range and allowing the cannon to be fired without jettisoning the launcher."

I didn't know there were multiple revisions of the launcher.
