Last night I was logged on and had problems with mini freezes just as I'd get close to a another plane. I have other players skins not displayed in the options. I checked sound accelertion, it's set at the 3/4 mark. So I updated all drivers..video, sounds, motherboard....everything. Never logged back on after that. This morning I try and I get the AH.exe message.

I went to desk top icon properties and and run was in "normal", changed it to "max". No help there.

These patches are killing me man.

P.S. I turned to firewalls off too. That didn't help. Compatability mode in desktop set on windows95, changed it to 98 ...didn't work either.

The film viewer don't even work. Same error message as thread title.

Rename the installation folder for the game to something else and install the full version again.  Be sure to remove the desktop ICON, before installing the full version as well.

By the way, the C-Media sound chip has never been very good and the drivers have always been problematic.  If you get a driver that worsk, never change it.  Although I have never been able to find one that does not cause every game I try to crash.

Thanks Skuzzy. Will do  :salute

P.S. While I'm here, what sound card would you suggest for my system?

Well I did what you suggested twice to no avail. Deleted Icon, renamed Install file went to AH home page and downloaded game  :(

No, no.  Do not rename the install file.  Rename the game installation folder on your hard drive.  If it is C:\HiTech Creations\Aces High, then rename "Aces High" to "Aces High OLD" or something.  Then reinstall the game.

DOH! Back back in a bit  :o    :furious Sometimes I'm dumber than a bag of hammers. I've spent all morning screwing with this thing. Completely deleted the game twice and did two system restores. In the process I lost all my custom sounds, sticks settings, custom gunsights ....everything. Started from scratch. I even went through and deleted and reinstalled Java. Game not working.
So I go back over in my mind thinking about what the hell i did last night. I go back to update my video drivers and there it was. The driver I was using wasn't digitally assigned! Once I clicked on the correct driver game popped up.

I'll tell ya what. I'm about half tempted to throw this computer out the window and go play stick ball!!!! I have no business tinkering with this stuff. I can build a big block Ford with my eyes closed, but this little box next to me drives my frikken nuts!!  :furious

Thanks for the help there Skuzzy dude. It has been a dang adventure  :lol
