Grrr... My ACM seems all screwy, then as I "try" to extend, I look back and realize my rudder is stuck full right! Kick peds a couple times to dislodge. Sheesh! No wonder I can't fly!!!

Anyone experience this stuck rudder problem... and have a fix??? I am in the habit of calibrating sticks/peds upon entering AH... everytime.

What else can I do?

I usually visit the game controller window in Win98 before I go into AH and kick the rudders around to "wake" them up. I still get it every blue moon, usually when I've been on auto pilot for a while (usually on a mission with the squad, that's always nice). I've resorted to having a USB hub right up front so when it does lock I disconnect the rudders USB con and reconnect. that'll reset the rudders. Like I said though, it's pretty rare nowadays, knock on wood.

I failed to mention that an unplug/replug of sticks and rudders is also part of my pre-flight checklist. I have an shortcut on my desktop to call up the Windows game controllers window. A quick check of this is yet another step I take before entering the cockpit.

The only good part of this is it give me an excuse fer poor performance. But... when ya already stink... a stuck rudder now n then don't hurt things much I guess.

Oh... and yes, I also have a powered USB port "right up front". It didn't take long to realize I didn't enjoy knockin me head under the desk everytime I needed to push/pull USB plugs!

I don't have to calibrate each time I go in. How often does it happen? It used to be more frequent until I gave each snottin device/slot it's on IRQ. How are yours?

I have the same setup.

I have the same problem, most of the time just the pedals go to sleep and have to be "woke up" but sometimes both the stick and pedels go.

Only happened once online though, and it was on a weekend that I had been online for 3 or 4 hours.

Also sometimes my peds and stick swap spots in the #1 and #2 slot in the windows setup and have to be changed.

Any Idea on that?

Other than that, been very happy with the combination, my X36 is one of the reconditioned ones that cost $39.99.

This fix works .

Well, I've not tried this yet, but it should work. Drop by the CH website
and pick up the "Combo Driver" package. Unplug the pedals and don't plug
them in again until all this is done. Run the install for the Combo Driver
package. Once that's installed, you'll have a utility called "CHDelete.exe"
that's like NukeUSB. It's in the program group that the install sets up, or
you can look in:

\Program Files\CH Products\Pro Pedals USB

Run it and have it delete the pedals.

Once the deletion is complete, restart Windows. After the restart, your X36
should be on ID#1 since the pedals are still unplugged. Plug the pedals in,
you should get a "New Hardware Found" dialog, let it run. Once that's done,
you should be set. The pedals should be on ID#2 and they should stay there
through a restart.

Let me know how it works out.

I had looked at this driver when it first came out... but "not for use with non-CH products" and "do not use with games that allow selection of more than one controller" (er something to that effect) made me pass on loading it.

But... I did as you said, and tonight at least, I seemed to have much better rudder control period!

Thanks!

NP , Bob seems a great guy for helping us all for free .

If you ever have to unplug the x36 for any reason better upplug the peds too . I had to once that the peds took over #1 spot again and had to do it all over again , lol . Seem the like to be king of the hill , so to speak .

Great rebooting and not having to change controler spots ain't it
