If we could choose to use the miles or old one, wouldn't that be nice?

Perhaps, but its not exactly realistic.

HTC has decided we are going to go this way.
Like it or not, we have 2 options, learn to deal with it, or stop flying.

Which you pursue is up to you of course.

not trying to bad talk HTC, but we're the ones paying the $15
It seems to be a general consensus througt the game that we all miss the old sound options, so why not bring it back instead of "WELL GET USED TO IT OR QUIT!"
Who care if its not realistic?
We have p51 fightintg spits and zero's fighting 109's.
And if its supposed to be realistic tell me, what the heck is a rook????

You're paying $15 for the services HTC is rendering.
That does not give you the right to demand things or change their plans for their business.

Just as you don't walk into an italian restaraunt and demand General Tso's chicken, or walk into Best Buy and demand they sell you some Levis.

HTC is trying to make their game the best they can, and using an old, outdated sound system was not helping them on that front, so they moved to one that's more flexible and allows a far greater ability to make the changes THEY want. The hope of all of that is eventually to satisfy the customer, but that doesn't mean there aren't going to be decisions people don't agree with.
Plus... it's the first day that this was fully implemented! Give them time to re-balance things. Yeesh.

not to mention I'd bet my paycheck for the week that they are currently working like crazy to perfect this last update.  Not really fair to criticize people who have a long history of putting out a superior product, fantastic customer service, and actually care about their product, unless you know everything that is going on on a day to day basis.  I think I'll just have faith in them and see what happens.

Any takers on that bet by the way? I need some extra beer money.

How about we go back to AH1 graphics too?

You realise this is the first step in introducing new individual sounds, right?

Ten different sounds or 300 different sounds?

And, what other games can you tweak individual sounds in?  None?  Think there's a reason for that?

I am having just as much trouble with sounds as anybody, I have an awesome computer (must be I build it myself  :rofl), kidding aside, I may not like the eny that ht has, or the new dar, but I know for sure that sounds will be fixed within two weeks and it will be way better than what we have now.  Just be patient I know somebody is working on a do-it-youself manual for the miles (to go) system.

cc this blank sound and replace the damn air raid sound with it, our life will be so much better.

cant get it to work right just scroll down to reply #22, you'll see the blank sound.  save it and replaced the airraid siren with it.

Who care if its not realistic?

Because the old sound system was out grown by the game and a new sound system that is more streamlined and provides better sound quality was needed for the current state of the game and for future updates.

Adapt or get off the pot, it's your choice.

The game aims to simulate aerial and ground combat using WW2 planes and vehicles, not recreate World War II.  So your comments about the 'lack of realism' is moot.

From my reading out at the Miles website, this sound system should be giving our systems back some CPU cycles possibly reducing the number of rubber bullets your armorer drunkenly goofed and slipped into your belt. I noticed last night I was hitting more planes with soft ack and using fewer rounds air to air to kill cons.

I've got to wonder if HiTech set the siren to that maddenly high level now to make us stay out of the tower and fight. I had squad mates log early from headachs because they still had not tweaked their sounds to a comfortable level. Wonder if there is a HowTo for the new sound setup that HTC can post?

Which would you rather have Challenge, old dweebs that know most of your tricks or new ones that don't?

Besides, we all know they are addicted and can't leave. This is Hotel California after all.
