Gentlemen & Ladies,
First off apologies. I have been swamped at work and have not had the time previously to comb through the logs.
I have reviewed the logs for frame 3 for air to air kills, bombing results, and violations for both sides and the results are below. The U.S. violated the max number I set for P40Es and will be penalized for that. Also of note is that Japanese had a squad basically not turn out at all in frame 3 (only 1 pilot turned out) leaving a hole in their plans.
United States
1075 = Air Victories
- 70 = Friendly Fire deaths
0895 = Bombing from destroying enemy targets (62.2% enemy targets destroyed)
0651 = Defense, from undamaged parts of their bases
-160 = penalty for deploying 8 P40Es past max number.
TOTAL = 2391
Japanese
0800 = Air Victories
- 45 = Friendly Fire deaths
0789 = Bombing from destroying enemy targets (54.8% enemy targets destroyed)
0545 = Defense, from undamaged parts of their bases
TOTAL = 2089
General Comments
Bombing effectiveness on both sides decreased from frame 2 to frame 3; US going from 70.7% to 62.2% and Japanese going from 82.4% to 54.8%. It was only a slight dip for the U.S. but the Japanese bombing results were significantly less versus frame 2.
This combined with the Americans doing better in the air war gave the frame to them.
Both sides basically deployed 78% of their pilots to fighters and 22% to fly bombers. The Allies lost 30 B25s and 1 B17 while the Japanese lost 39 Ju88s. Remember formations were on for B25s and Ju88s so the allies lost about 26% of their bomber force while the Japanese lost 29% of their bombers.
Among fighters the U.S. lost 54% of their fighter force and the Japanese lost 66%.
So the different bombing results stem more from bombing accuracy than losses of interdiction of bombers to targets.
TOTALS FRAME 1 & 2 & 3
7459 = US
7091 = Japan
U.S. up by 368 points.
