I think Dr_Death8's explanation makes perfect sense. That happens to me too Warhed, instead of a nice boom you get 12 seconds of frantic searching, lol. Just have to learn to shoot the wings off instead.
Don't panic BiPoLaR, 'me old cocker' is an old fashioned English expression for mate or friend (buddy, in American) which may either originate from 'alright me old Cock Sparrow' or 'alright me old Cockney Sparrow' and / or the similar expressions arising from a famous mathematics text book written by Edward Cocker, resulting in 'according to Cocker', and the expression 'Cock on'. No one really knows for sure.
The expression fell out of favour in the 1950s, but Bullet lives in Scotland and it's still the 1950s up there
