"In" is just saying that someone made a post before the thread is locked.

Well I have recruited one of my best friend, a mill write by triad to build the first phase of the Sim. I call it  the cage(cockpit area)of my project. He seems really  enthusiastic about the project and has a lot of experience in the mechanics and electrical end of things and he has worked with the  slip ring assemblies. He is a contractor for P&G and has worked on multimillion dollar equipment for years .This guy keeps plant equipment running.I'm excited about that.We will start to build the cockpit next week.(thank God he is a friend )Keeps my initial cost down although even he isn't free,LOL
I'm still really need some electrical and electronics advise on all required circuitry up to cockpit, due to the fact all the signal will pass through several slip ring assemblies.(I thing USB with hub in cockpit would seem like the easiest way to go in order to keep number of rings in slip ring assemblies down  hence the cost down on prototype.)I know a 15 pin system and 115v circuit would be used for video output for 1 monitor and is  all I will use on first prototype, but I really want to make sure i have enough circuits to run all the  peripherals required to get mouse keyboard ,joystick/pedal etc.I  would hate to be 2  circuits short of a full load.LOL.
Although the finish product will be aimed at the amusement industry I want the keyboard and mouse in cockpit for the prototype so I can play with all the values and settings during the testing phase,(with Velcro LOL)basically run my computer as if it was in cockpit with me .
USB boggles  my mind and although I  have researched the subject I feel my ignorance on the matter leads me to believe i should spent my time doing what I do best, which is the mechanics of the prototype and keeping project moving forward(do what i do best and find someone to do the rest)Once  we have build the first stage of cockpit and have the wiring nightmare complected and the slip ring assembly configured (# of rings and circuits) than its just a matter of repeating the steps a few more times to achieve the 3 axis unlimited rotations.I'm still unsure of the video signal interference issues while running through a slip ring assembly.
Any positive advice would be helpful(I swear I have a electrical energy that fries anything i touch that' s electronic ask my wife,I cant even fix my own joystick)
WARNING:May encounter some run on sentencing. http://sibley.com/complex_slip_rings.php

Well my first quarter of Java programming ends on Friday so I can program for you.  Seriously though what did you expect someone with an actual programming job to come and help a guy he met on line on a game website?
After reading Voss story, ROFLMAO  Sorry, even I'm not stupid enough to believe this guy flew in the  only flying 109 in the world . OMFGLMFAO ,I do feel kind of bad.Apparently not the first time its  happened now is it Genius. We really need more guys like you to prove your intelligence through your  eloquent grammar. You really should look at your own life and evaluate weather or not you are focusing on the priorities, because as far as i'm concerned your noodle must be almost as small as your brain."Most owners of ww2 planes won't let anyone fly them that's not 90 years old and actually flew one."
Ya  that's what i thought.P>S> That was a quote from an actual spitfire owner. He wouldn't even let me sit in it.It was at this point I realized out of respect, I didn't deserve to sit in it .

Yes, so dont take anything personally when they said you were a Voss, they were reffering to that turd.

Im quite curious to see what it will look like when its completed.

Are you going to use a centrifuge to simulate g's?

I'd say he'd have to.
But it would have to be a very complex centrifuge. In order to create the desired G loading it will pretty well need to be spinning at idle and spin faster or slower to provide the G force, movement of the capsule will direct the G to the appropriate vector.

Everyone seems to be focusing on a g factor.NASA uses a similar  concept for anti- gravity training tool  .its not going to produce 4,5,6,7,8, or 9 gs . It's a  G simulator or a  motion simulator to be more accurate.I don't want to be rude but just stating a fact ,this will be used primarily for amusement purposes although I think it could be used for training on a much larger scale.
The C.G of my sim will be forward and up from pilot it would produce a centrifugal force I'm sure could be measured with some instrument or another but I'm trying to simulate not replicate a force that is far greater than my budget.Gs could be obtained on a very large scale as many have pointed out but my prototype will be very scaled down version for oblivious reasons.Ill keep ya up to date if you like VIA PM

I may be able to add  a liquid slip ring  so i can feed my rum&coke  through to the cockpit and have a tube in my mouth  LOL

well i found a suitable motor   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VTdz-5BT3s  ($2000.00 with controllers  GOD!  i need 3  of them LOL) think it will provide necessary torch and comes with electronic break/controller.(wire this controller via computer inputs)This should do the trick.Had another good meeting today with mill write and he will start  cockpit tomorrow.Exciting stuff--He is all flustered with the complexity but I told him we will just do the cockpit with single rotation (roll axis )first and deal with all electronic and programming . Mount a  monitor , seat and seat adjuster tracks in cockpit. We will get video signals and 1motor 1 controller up and tested than deal with rest as we get to it.It should me mostly mechanical work after 1st axis is figured out.Than we can  assemble the other 2 axis at a later date.Have to start from inside out with this baby.

Now we selected a motor we just need to configure all the circuitry  so I can order the slip ring assembly.Still need help with this   =ANYONE?          I'm getting a chub just thinking about the first maiden flight.
