Working On My Acceptance Speech For The Emmys
« on: November 11, 2010, 03:02:59 AM »
Went camping at Texas Motor Speedway last weekend and wound up being featured in a segment of SPEED Channel's "The Racing Chef". Chef Nicky Morse was quite impressed with our smoker!

The show will air this Saturday morning at 10am Central on SPEED Channel.

The firebox is in the grip, the smoke comes out the barrel, the sight is the damper, and the hammer opens the lid on the chamber.  :devil

Chicken and pork ribs. I was afraid I might have to use some stunt BBQ because it was cooking slower than expected, but it turned out just right by the time we had to pull it off.

So did you hand build that smoker?  It's beautiful btw, can't wait to see it on the show.

A friend of mine built it by hand. He doesn't have a TV so he sits around shooting his guns and building stuff like this for entertainment. He built a mini Model-T flatbed truck with a wench and gin poles. It has a lawnmower engine. The dude is talented.
