Has anyone tried DX 8.1 yet and if so, any comments?

i have it i like it better than 8.a

just my thoughts but there not that diff.

I've used it for a long time.. so far I think it works better than 8a.
Just needs to be aware that old 8.1 versions might squeak about D3D coming unuseful due to expiration.
If so, then has to get newest.

I've been using it a long while and find it fine - build before this one expired though and had problem finding a site with new build on it for a few days - make sure you find a reliable source before you make the change - think its on build 682 at the mo.

i posted a link the other day to dx8.1--its a good version(doesn't expire.) i believe it was in one of the tech support folder's under the headlines, directx8.1-fix. it works great btw. i believe in sharing good stuff, not hording it as if it were my secret little info. a rather base mentality, if you ask me.

Thank you - went to have a look at it and what do you know - RC2 (0710) was released on Sat

I take it that RCs are not betas and won't expire?

Release Candidates will expire also. At least that is what we DX Beta testers were told recently.
