More Realistic M2 Browning
« on: December 06, 2010, 02:58:30 PM »
Hello all. First, I want to say thank you to all who worked so hard to give us these great sound packs. If fly mainly US planes so that means I let Ma Deuce do my talking. However, the sounds from the M2 are not realistic in my opinion. Its very electronic sounding vs. a sound capture of a real M2.

Also, does anyone know if the planes in WW2 had standard M2s or where they modified to have a faster rate of fire?

Finally, if someone has a sound file I can use for the M2 in this game, please let me know where to get it.

Thanks!

Found my answer. It was the Browing M3, not the M2 that was used in aircraft. Still need the sound file though if anyone has one.

I took a look at this clip http://www.territorioscuola.com/youtube/view.php?video=6VA-SB3KNb8&feature=youtube_gdata_player&title=Browning+.50+Cal  I am doing some editing with the various M2.... -1 tru -6 wav files.   The problem is that firing short bursts it sounds authentic.  Any extended burst just sounds like repeated bursts and not continuous firing.  I am experimenting with trying to stagger the gun sounds.  Anyone else have any luck with that sort of thing?

Tried it but with how short the sound wave is (approx. 100ms long)  it not really noticable.

Dogg, did you try doing that with a sound file from an M3 vs. M2 (there's a hugh difference in sound). Youtube has a bunch of videos of people firing from an M3.

Let me know how your experiment goes.
