Did you notice that DXDIAG is crashing in stage 4?

Notice the native sound card drivers are not installed.

Beyond that, what do you mean by "ghosting"?

Skuzzy, most of the dxdiag is Greek to me. How do you determine that the native sound card drivers are not installed?  I'm still having vox problems that you and I emailed back and forth recently and want to check that on my system.  I'll post my dxdiag and other questions on a separate post.  Thanks.

First look at the supplier of the driver, then the driver name.  Microsoft has a cache of standard issue drivers (native drivers include the manufacturer ID) that can be used in place of the native ones, and work okay for Windows applications, but not for DirectX/DirectSound applications.
