Headset questions
« on: January 12, 2011, 01:21:42 AM »
Sooooo, I have an old leather flight cap with a working mic (1/5''-2.5mm adapter is HARD to find) and working speakers. Unfortuneately dont know how old it is. Anyways, I was wondering if I could isolate vox to just the headsets, and only have vox in the headsets while having all other noise through my speaker system. What is the easiest way this could be done?

Only way I know of is to have two different sound cards installed at once so you can set the outputs accordingly.

Also if you use "on-board sound" on your MB, some motherboards  ex... Gigabyte brand ( the newer ones ) give one the option of switching / changing how the inputs/outputs are seen and will allow one to be able to split their sound devices and use both at same times  ...... The same is possible on some high-end sound cards as well.........

I however am not saying that it is possible to split  "Aces High game sounds" & "Aces High Vox", I have not heard of anyone being able to split these to be heard independently of each other in 2 separate devices.........

if someone has done this or if it is possible I would be interested

hope this helps

I think this is one of the reasons HTC went with the Miles sound system...might not be available yet, but I think it's a feature they're working on.
My Current Rig:
GigaByte GA-X99-UD4 Mobo w/ 16Gb RAM
Intel i7 5820k, Win7 64-bit

It works just fine with the Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatality Champion (the one with the 5-1/2" front panel) or any other device that can discern the difference between rear panel connections and front panel connections. I use 5.1 speakers for the environment (X-Fi rear panel) and headphones for vox reception (X-Fi front panel) with a broadcast mic and firewire preamp (Phonic Firefly 302plus) for voice input. Just use the games sound setup to select the different devices. Any sound device that shows up in the Control Panel applet can be used really.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

I need to correct my post, I was thinking of the older sound parameters that Aces High used, before they introduced the "Miles sound system" into Aces High....... so only the first part of my above quote ( in BLUE text ) is valid

I think this is one of the reasons HTC went with the Miles sound system...might not be available yet, but I think it's a feature they're working on.

yes as ImADot has stated, with the Miles Sound System and its advanced setup selections one can dicern /independently set/select what sound goes through what device

Also, as Chalenge has described, the splitting of one's Vox and one's other sounds can be split thru seperate devices.......

I too, have been able to do the same on this backup PC with using an Audigy soundcard and having the ability to select/choose what my inputs/outputs on the soundcard do

my apologies for the mis information I originally posted, I had not dug into the new Miles sound System used in Aces high nor had noticed the new features that are capable until after Chalenge had made his post above

for a quick reference, check out the updated sound help page of Aces High

I hope this helps and clears up any mis-information I may have previously posted
