Spammers on AvA website
« on: February 15, 2011, 11:51:01 PM »
You can tell as they put a big sales pitch in their Bio, and are members of dozens of other sites.

Site will still automatically accept members but as "limited" until I can check them out.

As far as the 4 spammers there now, I'm just going to leave them as they won't be able to do anything but look around and their email will get spammed with AvA stuff  :lol

I had 5 of them join my squad's site last month and spam a few areas.  I deleted them and blocked them from rejoining.  Not that my site gets lots of traffic anyways...  :D

No one but admins have access to the members section where emails can be sent so the only emails members should get are the weekly setup/news blast.

Only full members can post in the AAR/blog section and can upload screenshots and vids and since the site has no forum of it's own and that link comes back to this forum, limited members should have no ability to do anything.

For the trouble of registering on our site for spam purposes, they are going to be receiving the weekly AvA news email, so in effect, we are "spamming" them.
