Starship Troopers 2 made me too scared to eat the croissants that we had downstairs for feat of injesting a control bug.  That movie is second only to Child's Play when it comes to sheer terror.

The whole series of movies utterly destroyed the purpose of the novel.  I wish someone would make an "actual" version of the book, but its so un-PC Hollywood would never touch it...

very true...and it's too bad too, could make a good movie if done right...heinlein was a superb story teller, one of my favorite novel writers.

I am a huge fan of the series. #2 was by far the worst but I still enjoyed it. #3 was def better than #2 and brought back some of the characters from #1. The budget was obviously minimal for #3 but i think they did a good job. As for the TV series, Its slow and terribly made, but after I watched many episode I began to realize they are just very slow at developing characters. It looks like the cinematic interludes for a game made around 99-2k. The TV is great to put on in the background if you are doing something else and need some background noise. The one thing the TV series does that the movies couldn't illustrate was the whole war, with the various campaigns and planets. In the end you should just watch it all because SST rules.

Closest they've got to is an anime series done in the 70's. They did the mobile infantry armor almost exactly to the novel's description. The bugs oth... they didnt do so well. In fact the bugs in the movies (at least the zerger warrior bugs) were rather close to the novel in shape.

Trust me

Marauder was so awesome. Loved 1 and 3. They were funny as hell, and very very cool.
