Hello guys,
I have a request/question for the map makers here. Is there any way that I can get some textures for runways and the like that don't look so... rendered? I'm looking for them to slowly blend into the surroundings, is it possible? Does it already exist?

Yes, but it requires what I call stepping into the deep end of the pool, and this is well beyond building a default terrain with the Terrain Editor. It isn't that hard, but it's one of the last things you need to master.
Such shapes are usually made with ac3d, that makes them custom and custom shapes aren't allowed in any of the MAs. Use an alpha bitmap, it allows gradations to transparent edges.
To find out what I mean, using the Object Editor, Export to ac3d, cityg0, and csfulg, among others. Also, road0 will give you an example similar to what you need. Look at CITY.bmp and CITY_a.bmp, then ROAD.bmp and ROAD_a.bmp. Play with changing the _a.bmp files. After you learn what effect changes to these textures make in your terrain, you can experiment with applying something to the custom runway shape you'll build in ac3d.
Happy building.
