You may be right about the flyability of it, but I disagree about the "no museum would fly it" bit because there are a number of aviation museums that do that very thing. The one in Arizona comes to mind. Some specifically try to keep the planes flying, so that when it comes time to move them you simply fly them.
I said SMITHSONIAN.  :)

Great chart, but I didn't mention speed.  Why did you show us?  I simply said 10k isn't respectable, and then went on to hint about the 6500 ft reach of ack.   :headscratch:  Great chart though.   :salute

Llogan: Performance wise the speed of the Ar234 doesn't increase much from deck to fastest alt.

(Image removed from quote.)

Anything from 12k to 24k would be best, but if you look at deck speeds there's only 25mph or so max difference. Lower down you're still super fast. Faster than most planes. The only threat is if cons are significantly higher they have dive speed on you. Otherwise 9k is more than respectable in this ride. It climbs so poorly I find myself levelling off around 10k or so anyways just so I can get to target and back before I run out of gas.

Respectable suggested "safe" or "worthy"

Usually when choosing an alt you look for the peak speed on the speed chart. You look at a Betty for example it tops out 9K then drops off really bad and goes back up. So unless you fly at FTH your second best bet is 9K

So along those lines I included the speed chart to show that most of those alts are pretty respectable. Speed will save you in that plane. Speed, and staying out of the ack :P (as you mention)

Fair enough. You saying the Smithsonian doesn't have flying planes at all? I know they have an extensive static display, but none at all? Color me a little surprised.  :)

You know what, I have to agree with you when you put it that way.  I replaced the 234 in my head with the Mossie16 and you are right, I do the same thing... RTB around 26,450ft.
