MacDonald at Dobodura
This free Aces High 2 Mission recreates the battle of 15Oct1943 in which Major Charles MacDonald led 51 Lockheed P38 "Lightning" fighters against an incoming raid of 60 Japanese aircraft. Alerted by RADAR with only minutes to mount his defense, MacDonald commandeered a nearby jeep and scrambled across dirt roads to the airfield in time to "borrow" a handy P38 from another squadron. His speedy take-off allowed him to guide his outnumbered force of defenders into an ideal position to attack the incoming bombers.
