dead pilot
« on: June 25, 2011, 11:56:19 PM »
Ok.
1. So, instead of the explosion you get when the pilot is killed, why not just have te icon dissapear on the plane?
2. Instead of the generic no-matter-what-your-doing-spiral when the pilot is killed, have the plane neutralize the controls so you could watch it slowly lose control and plummet. (Ok, so not realistic, but neither is generic spiral!) It would be really neat, and probably not that hard to implement (But I dont know diddly squat about coad)

Discuss.

Flame-retardant clothing? Check.

explosions look better on films and pictures than a falling plane that you cannot really tell if it's dead or not.  but anyway most people dont look at the plane falling after the kill is recorded.

I like the explosion, I like knowing they didn't even get a chance of bailing. However, I would like the planes actions afterwards to be a bit more than just the immediate death spiral.

icon already disappears when the pilot gets killed, haven't noticed whether or not it does when the pilot bails.

I meant the death spiral. Also, when you bail anyone notice that the bottom of the plane is facing up instead of the cockpit?

I did. And while we're on the subject, has anyone noticed that the pilot appears coming directly from the cockpit, or where it would be?
