Tuesday August 9th, 2011 10:00pm Eastern in SEA I - Aces High eXtreme Air Racing League - Season 24 Race  2. Scheduled host is RDRTrash. RDRTrash is a long time racer and AHXARL CM who has recently become available again after being tied up with personal issues. We are glad to have him back in the rotation, and look forward to some of his innovative track designs.

On this day in history, 09 August, 1945, Over Japan... The second atomic bomb (nicknamed "Fat Man") is dropped on Nagasaki by a specially equipped B-29 named "Bock's Car" and piloted by Major Charles Sweeney. This is a plutonium fission device similar to the one tested at Alamagordo, New Mexico. The bomb weighs about 10,000 pounds and its detonation yields an explosion equivalent of about 20,000 tons of TNT. About 40,000 Japanese ultimately die from the attack and 60,000 are injured.

Wednesday August 10th, 2011 10:00pm Eastern in SEA II Snapshot -   "The Straffers" Hosted by 68Baltar.
Rabaul, like Truk, her sister citadel in the Carolines, was destined to be by-passed by our invasion forces, but would be completely cleared of all air and naval power in the process. There were many strikes carried out against Rabaul; the most bloody of all probably being that of 2 November 1943. Intelligence reported Simpson Harbor to be packed with ships. General Kenney put nine B-25 squadrons (all straffers) and six covering squadrons of P-38 into the air and headed them out for Rabaul.

Join us to commemorate the Battle of Britain, specifically Adlertag or "Eagle Day", which took place on August 13, 1940 and which was the start of the Luftwaffe's attacks against the RAF over British soil.
 "What General Weygand called the Battle of France is over. I expect that the Battle of Britain is about to begin. Upon this battle depends the survival of Christian civilization. Upon it depends our own British life, and the long continuity of our institutions and our Empire. The whole fury and might of the enemy must very soon be turned on us. All players are welcome, and no preparation is needed. TDIWWII events have the theme of the battle, but they are not realistic recreations and do not require familiarity with any rules prior to joining us for the fun.

Practice/Parade Laps: 5:00 Eastern    
Brackets: 6:45 Eastern
Start: 7:00 Eastern

**SECOND SUNDAY EVERY MONTH**

In each round (check which month the current race is on), there are four races.
One race on the 2nd. Sunday of each month.
Practice and parade laps of the course will start at 6:00 p.m. Eastern.
Bracketing of racers will be established by 6:45 p.m.
The 1st. racer through the starting gate at 7:00 p.m. Eastern.  
After all four races have a winner, a 5th race, designated the World

Series of S.A.S.F.R.A.S. will run to determine a Champion.
Invitees to this World Series of S.A.S.F.R.A.S. will be the four winners

of the rounds.
A two heat per racer rule will be used in this final race.
