Widewing from O club thread

The first photo has an incorrect caption stating that the tank depicted is an M4 Sherman. It is an M36 Jackson... 90mm gun.

Interesting...  I wouldn't have noticed without looking up pictures (I'm not a tank buff), but the M4 and M36 don't look anything alike.  Seems like a strange mistake for an article to make.
I'm Sector95 in-game! :-D

(Image removed from quote.)  What Tank please?

The old caption, from Guppy's source, says it is a Gun Motor Carrage, a tank destroyer. The new caption calls it an M-4.

It looks like an M-36 to me, a GMC (Gun Motor Carrage, aka, Tank Destroyer), based on the length of the gun barrel, the muzzle brake, and the travel lock. I can't tell if it has an open turret or not and I haven't compaired the shape of the gun mantle.

I was really  :headscratch: when they called it an M-4.

It is an M36 Tank Destroyer... Very much feared by German tankers as its 90mm could kill anything the M36 might encounter.

These got me in the mood, so I watched "The Longest Day" on Neflix Roku last night. Lots of old actors you have to look at twice, The Duke, Eddie Albert, Fabian, George Segal, even Sean Connery in a bit part.  :salute
