Panzer IV F position issue

FYI, when I tried the Pz IV F offline, I was unable to get to the tank commander's position, which is normally achieved with the "3" key on the main keyboard.  Instead, for Pz IV F only, this key takes one to the gunner's position.

The commanders position is 1, gunner is 2, pintle gun is 3.  In the case of the IV F panzer it does not have a pintle machine gun.

OK, so this is intentional behavior then, and not a bug.

Pardon me for taking this further in the Bug Reports forum, but then how does one scan the terrain under magnification (simulating binoculars, as from position 3) without training the turret?

I consider the default view (1) the commanders position because you can drive and steer the tank, as well as traverse and elevate the turret.  From this position you can still zoom, and and use the view keys (defaults to the numpad but can be remapped just like in aircraft) just like before.  The view keys function independent of what the rest of the tank or turret is doing.

Yes, but view keys don't give magnification. 

A better solution for the Pz IV F would have been to allow a position 3, without an AAMG.  It doesn't make sense to allow zoomed/magnified scanning only to those vehicles with AAMGs.  Position 1 is not the same as position 3; it forces you to train the turret, which can be very undesirable in some situations.

Yes they do, from the default (1) position hit Z, adjust with [ and ], look around with numpad.  It's just like the MG position if there was one, the turret doesn't enter into it all.
