I have a few questions...
« on: February 23, 2012, 11:33:42 AM »
I have a few questions for you military aviators out there.  I am a senior in college majoring in biochemistry, and I am going to graduate this May.  I am getting married June 30, and plan on joining the military afterwards to be an aviator.  Due to the proposed budget cuts, it seems like everything but the Navy's carrier force is getting reduced, so I will probably have the best chance of getting a flight seat in the Navy.  Therefore, I am going to try to go through the Navy's OCS/AOCS with the hope of getting a F-18 seat.

I was just wondering, what should I do to set myself apart from the other people trying to do what I want to do?  I have a good GPA, and I am working out to get in good enough shape for OCS, but other than that I don't really have a plan.  Are there any specific things I should be studying?  Any particular extracurricular activities?  If anybody has some answers for me, I would greatly appreciate it if you took the time to send me a PM.   :salute

With the draw backs, it will be a challenge no matter which service you choose. Once you get into AOCS, you need to be at the top of your class. From what I understand, the top of the class gets to choose what ride they drive.
