successful gv landing

took an m3 and dropped supplies about 2k from the nme town. ended and got a successful landing. took a tank, shot up the town, turned around and was further away from the town and got a capture. (supplies disappeared) late at night no one at the base defending. if there is a reason for this can you guys put something in the help files describing (correctly) what happens under what conditions?

The first time, you were alone, the next time you weren't.  That may have been why your supplies were gone.  The red guy close to you found them, ate them up, and was waiting for you in the bushes.  You towered out so you were captured.

it's 5k yds isn't it?

I'd go with 6k yds myself, but I could almost swear I remember 5k yds.
