Bulgarian skins.
« on: August 12, 2012, 02:18:48 PM »
The Bulgarians have a few aircraft worth looking at for skinning Axis skins as well as Allied when they flipped. 109's of various types,Storch,Stuka just to name a few.

Always nice to have a few Allied 109's on your side.

Several photos of Stoyan Stoyanov an Ace with the Bulgarians & his 109E in the links below.

I think from just before they adopted that square national marking, here's one I already did:

EDIT: I know, not my best... one of my early attempts. But still!

Well I think it needs a lot of work :)

I need to revisit all my 109Es and most of my 109Fs and update them all. It's just very time consuming.

P.S. I'm still not sure of the significance of the markings. Not sure if tha was standard or if it was some special marking denoting a unit crest, or perhaps some royal crest... I placed it in time and I had photo references of it, so I went with it, but when I redo it I'm debating putting on standard boxes-with-crosses Bulgarian markings.
