Latest Xperia with android 4.0 pushes a driver/software install automatically for windows. For mac a separate install is required. The software is similar to Nokias control software for example.
Nope, I had both Xperia's before ICS was released (both ran GB). I do have the Sony software installed on my laptop but that's the only place I've ever put it.
