8-way hat is screwed up.  Anyone know how to take it apart and where i can purchase a replacement hat?  It's past warranty.

Starting to have problems with mine too. Not wanting to look back/left. This doesn't look like it's brain surgery. Saw this on the CH Hangar a while back and just did a search for it. Nice guide;

This is why I've saved a couple of my junky gameport versions. I figured some of that stuff would come in handy someday. ;)

It is very easy to swap out a switch. As in the link Dranno posted it is pretty much step by step. I only changed out the single switch that was giving me trouble instead of pulling the whole 8-way switch out. Yes the analog switch are the same, so having an old analog CH stick is great for parts. As for where to get parts, I think any electronic store should carry those buttons.

Check out the CH-HANGER forums for more details. You may even find someone posting a part number for the replacement button your looking for.

8 way hats often just get dirty, buy electronics cleaning spray and spray the root of the hat generously. Then circle the hat repeatedly through all positions. That may well restore it.

Drano & Ninth,
 I've got spare tactile switches if that's the issue with your 8ways. Shoot me a pm if you want and I'll send you both some gratis. That's assuming you guys are comfortable with de-soldering/soldering.

ie no 0 at full and 65000 at idle.

Dirt in the pot can cause off readings, the fix is the same like with the 8-way hat. You can also try to recalibrate.
