Killed a tank. Got a chute kill.

So I was tanking tonight and got a number of kills of a certain player while they were in a tank and I was in a tank. Just went to player stats and I see I have three kills of said player but they all say the player was in a chute?! We were both in tanks. What the heck?
Of course I have no films ...

So, is it possible to bail from a tank? If not I really don't understand what could have happened here. Anyone else ever have this happen?

No, you still can't "bail" from a vehicle
The "chute" kills only came back to AH recently when the reconnecting feature was introduced. They aren't really kills of chutes / bailed pilots. I'd guess they are either kills on an object which is currently under AI control or the AI "bailing" because the end of its 5 minute period was reached. My money is on the latter.

No, it would just suggest a lost connection, with no hint on the cause.
