Observation Planes Scoring
« on: June 03, 2013, 06:40:58 PM »
I'd like to see a scoring system for the Fi-156. Right now the 156 sorties go in as bomber or attack, and the Fi-156 is definitely not a bomber or fighter aircraft. Maybe HTC can code it so that if a smoke bomb explodes within a certain range of an enemy GV, it is considered as "marked" by the system. Then, when the Fi-156 pilot lands, it will show "Player landed x marks in a Fi-156" or something along those lines. It would give a bit more motivation for players to launch a Fi-156 instead of a GV, and would reward players who opt to help out their friendlies instead of killing enemy GVs. Maybe the perk reward could be .5 vehicle perks per mark. I've found that it is much easier to defend against a GV attack when one or more pilots are flying a 156. I'm all for giving credit where credit is due, and right now flying the 156 is a thankless job; the pilots get no recognition or reward for the valuable and helpful work they do.

Sounds like a lot of work to pat someone on the head for spotting.

Its just an idea I thought of to get more people to use the Storch to spot GVs. I see the Storch being used to bail out at the map room of a vbase more than I see it being used to spot GVs

Yes you get bomber perks for using the C47 and vehicle perks for using M3, Sdk, etc

Scoring... for a Storch... seriously???  This is a prime example in which scoring is a major distraction in how or why something is used or not used.  The number of people that refuse to up something sub-"1337", or rather not a crutch plane is far more than many players recognize.  Ultimately, the Storch should have no effect on scoring, none at all.

the best score available to a Storch player is seeing the rewards of his work.  Meaning, through smoke or verbal spotting, resupplying of allied gv's, or even being a distraction for enemy gv's or aircraft while the allied gv's get their victories and/or march towards their goal.

Also, here is another chance for me to make a shameless plug for HTC to allow the Storch to spawn in to off base spawn points.  Heck, I say forget the FH on vehicle bases and let the Storch spawn from the VH.    :aok
