<<SALUTE>> KN
« on: June 08, 2013, 10:23:02 AM »
After defending V101 last night we rearmed and got back on station expecting another attempt.

While hanging out we noticed some bases flashing on and off coming east, from the south west.  We were split into two flights of 3.  One was our Allied ACE mission (Klipper).

After landing his damaged plane (and single handedly covering V101 while we rearmed), Rodent57 looked in the tower to see a flight of 3, 190s chasing Baumer back to A50.  G3-MFs ABLE flight (of 3) was attempting to sprint and cut off egress on the west side of A50.  Once spotted over the city strat, we engaged.  G3-MF's DOG flight was still about 8 minutes away.

I considered waiting on them to form a flight of 6 but thought I'd take us in to anchor the egress and set up more kills for our ACE mission.  While enroute, Biggamer said something I never considered before...   ...could be a trap.  There could be a larger squad hanging out JUST outside vis waiting for us to come in and that the low 3 planes were actually bait.

Suddenly, we were engaged and having a pretty good white knuckle fight when 7 or 8 dots started to appear high and from the west.  I am thinking to myself, "dammith, that surely isn't Biggamer's crew and nobody else was on local...   ...Biggamer called it and I am now the low and slow fool!!!"

We took the fight directly to our base hoping the .4 ack would be of SOME assistance.  Getting all banged up the three of us attempted a desparate landing.  I barely made it with a couple 190s BnZing the hell out of me trying to stop and tower.

Biggamer, BFOOT1, and our fearless ACE Klipper arrived and in a great position.  Instead of sending all in, Biggamer came down and started to mix it up.  We kept Klipper up high.  When it seemingly started to slow down, we sent in BFOOT1, still keeping Klipper up high.  When we were about ready to spring him into the fight, the 190s that left the fight were back, with altitude and a ton of energy.

We cut our losses and sent our ACE away to save the plane.  We realized, in the middle of that fight, we were dealing with KN.

Great tactics all across the board and one hell of a fight at the end of the frame.  We were hoping to hold you in the area to prevent you from making it back on time, but as always, your math in public did you well.

<<S>> KN!!!  Always an honor mixing it up with you guys.

Yeah that was a fun fight. You ran into a pack of hungry wolves. Jg 11 got all the bombers at v94 so we headed south looking for more action, and found you guys. I got hits on a P-39 but he landed it.
