Ink, I feel your pain! Recently a player was kind enough to "give" me a TIR4.
He told me he couldn't use it and was going to toss it out but offered to send it to me to give it a try. I don't do well with change, got a new throttle about a month ago and still only have 3 buttons setup.....
I installed the software and gave it a try, just the interface because I need to set it up in my simpit so I haven't used it in game yet. Hopefully I'll get that done soon and actually try it ingame! I'm hoping it will take a load off my hand because it get real sore flying.
Been reading about profiles, asking players who use it how they have theirs setup, but I think I'm going to feel like a noob for about 6 months.....
And they say you cant teach an old dog new tricks......
its strange for sure....in War Thunder(thats why I was gonna go with freetrack but FLOTSOM is letting me use his Trakir4)
in War Thunder it works perfect....although I am still a complete noob with the whole idea of it..at least now I can look and see what is killing me
in AH it seems to move way to fast and is very jumpy when I am trying to fire on someone....
I have the movement speed way down 1 notch above bottom.... and I set the curves high on all axis....most shut off the roll.... it seems, but I left mine on to move around the bars....
I did get a bit dizzy in AH the first time using it, but Not War Thunder....very strange I was in War thunder for a couple hours using it...then went into AH and within a few minutes felt messed up....
....its that much more "jumpier" in AH
what really sux is my hat views on my CH fighter stick are screwed up.... now its almost imposable to get it to go to front left view....which has cost me fights...so I need to go to trackir....
blaaaaa...I wont be using it tonight in FSO.....well I will a bit but I have a button set on my stick to pause it...and the hat view override it anyways......its definitely gonna take me some time to get used to it, I do think in the long run it will make me a better stick, my SA has always been top notch, even as a noob(the guy who showed me would sit behind me and watch me fly and every 10 seconds would be like...check 6.......check6.....check6....
check6....don't forget...check6....
) I do think it is more fluid and natural with the trackir...so I am gonna stick to it........
