That's the good kind of 109, the dead kind.

That 1st picture is the collection of scrap round the back of the JG5 Hanger I have left over from the Latrobe-RedBull days...

I'm still sorting through them... It's a thankless task, but I must to find the 109 I let Latrobe borrow with my lucky sheep mascot on the dash  :cry

The 3rd picture's a bit odd, the gear is retracted.

Why is it odd? It's a disassembled 262, and the wing is upside down. Without the hydraulics keeping the pressure up, I assume the wheels would probably be pretty easy to push back into "retracted" mode.

If only you guys were capable of making this happen in AH. Unfortunately for you, the opposite seems to be the case for the most part  :ahand.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

Because I can't imagine the circumstance where someone would take the trouble to carefully, manually retract the gear when they're just smashing the planes up. Presumably they were locked down when the aircraft was sitting on them?

Ah, I see. I kind of assumed it had been taken off for maintenance and then the field or project abandoned.
