You don't need to "force" anyone to furball.  Quite the opposite.   If your "strat" is phony, and unfun then you will indeed need to "force" people to participate in the (cough) "strat tho.  One way to force people to participate in badly done strat is to deny them any other way.

The last few nights are perfect examples.   No one was being forced to fight/furball.  In fact... they  were doing it in large numbers and quite willingly avoiding the moronic, unrealistic and unskilled "fighter hanger de-roofing" that would shut down the fun.   What happens is that evnetually some attention starved and or unskilled suicide bomber makes it to the field and ruins the fun for dozens of guys.

Now, IMO, this is both bad gameplay and extremely unrealistic.   it is embarassingly silly so far as "strat" or even tactics go.  Certainly, field capture could be improved to be slightly more realistic and improve gameplay at the same time.

tac... your kidding right?   Are you saying that someone should "sacrafice" themselves and cap fields over furballs?  Do the boring job of killing the stupidfortress while everyone else is down there having a good time?   No... everyone fights while they can and the buff flies over at 15k and de-roofs a couple of buildings.   Then everyone looks for another place to fight if the next field over is too far away.   It's simply too easy to deny fighters at a field.

Hey Torqiepoo.. are you coming back to fly anytime soon?

I need a real challenge, aside from Drex. I'm not really certain Drex qaulifies as a "challenge"... maybe more like a "I'll kick your bellybutton and you're gonna like it b*tch"....

Funny this comes up. I just opened a Wb account yesterday after an 18 month hiatis, I was kind of dissapointed.

I climb to 15k (for nothing) to find about 30 a/c going at it on the deck, it was like this the whole arena. I got 9 kills in three hops (would have had triple that if not for the low ammo load of a 109e) and logged off in boredom.

In AH, I find the pilots to be much more difficult to fight because they hold on to their E and fly with a much more tactical mind. I also find AH aircraft to be more demanding - I mean last night in WB I was diving 8k into a furball balls to the wall without a worry about my speed or trim - this is not the case in AH.

Anothing thing I noticed was that I ran a 20% gunnery percentage where in AH it's like 5%. How the hell is that possible, I was totally unprepared for WB not having touched it in a year and a half.

I'll tell you why, AH has increased my pilot skills immensely. AH forces me to stay tactically minded, to keep my plane in trim, to watch my fuel, and to manage my speed.

What your complaining about lazs is what makes AH a great flight simm.

Actually, this is exactly what I was doing last night over A5. I bagged a B17 over the field with a Zeke at 29K- a true miracle! I had to work pretty hard to get it, though, and it was a white-knuckle job, so what does it matter if I got 1 kill or 5 in that time? My mind was clear of all my other troubles while I was focused on killing that buff- and that friends is all I am after while I am in there.

kats...tactics and "strat" are different animals.  So is gunnery and damage and flight models... Ah has a better FM and gunnery and damage model IMO.   It changes tactics.  In WB the game would change radically if hit percent went down and damage up.   If FM's were better.

What I am complaining about is not what makes AH fun.  I am complaining about a simplistic gameplay/strat  feature that ruins the fun for a lot of people.  If it were fixed you would not get kills in "furballs' like you do in WB.   Someone will get u if you get down and mix it up.  If you don't you will miss out on the kills.  You cant (ala WB) swoop down full bore and shake off a "few hits" and then come back and take "a few more hits".  You would be dead and/or you would attract the attention of someone else coming into the fight with a lot of e that percieved you to be a bigger threat than the group in the furball.

tac... great but most would rather enjoy themselves and find attacking buffs to be less thatn satisfying in any case no matter what the result.  Many have flat said that they will not attack buffs at all for any reason.   I can see their point.
