If HTC said "THIS" is the computer you need to run flat out, how many people would look at it and say "my computer is no where near that thing, I guess I won't even bother trying it". They would lose a lot of possible customers. The game is very scalable and playable to a lot of computers, but you wouldn't know that unless you tried it.
I would like an answer like that above maybe once a year but understand like you said it may deter players from playing or even trying. Once you know the minimum components to run maxed out (and when I say maxed out I mean everything turned on and a rock steady 60FPS), you can Tailor your build around that to fit your budget. HTC would not have to give all possible hardware profiles just one system setup, use the most availbale brands.
A disclaimer could be put out stating this system was only tested on AH with the current version of XXX on the date of xxxx future updates and changes may degrade performance etc etc ......
Do you think it would be better to build up from teh minimum equipment list and then be disappointed when a component that cost more provides no extra performance?
This is just my 2 cents and for what it's worth my game play as been very good with the systems I have used, I have never been able to run maxed out and have always wonder what the minimum would be besides the top of the line gaming machine.
