BBS Alert system/Phone App?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe we used to have an alert system set up in the "messages" system for anytime a person Quotes you in post or replies to a thread that you have created. I really miss that. Even if we didn't have that at one point, it would be a nice thing to have. I always forget what thread I replied to 

TapAtalk is a nice Phone app that is used for numerous kinds of forums. I STRONGLY suggest looking into that as it would advertise a little bit, because people may search "WW2 Forums" or "gaming forums". AND it would create a little bit more activity on the forums here.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

Go to your forum profile and look at "notification and email".

SMF allows you to be notified of replies to posts, newly posted topics, and forum announcements. You can change those settings here, or oversee the topics and boards you are currently receiving notifications for.

It goes to my Email though, which I don't want.

I'd rather have a little "alert" button at the top so when I log in, I can see which of my threads/posts have been replied to.

How about that link at the top of the screen that says "show new replies to your posts"? That at least filters the forums for a quick view of what threads you've posted in.
